Welcome to Ifa Divination Homepage. Onaje Woodbine, Ph.D. Candidate in Religious Studies at Boston University and Folasade Woodbine have created this website to provide a support network and forum for all students and practitioners of Yoruba-Ifa-Orisa religion, to learn and discuss Ifa Divination. May Orunmila be our guide!
Ọ̀rúnmìlà, ẹlẹ́ẹ̀rí-ìpín (Orunmila, Witness to Destiny)
Ibìkejì Olódùmarè (Second to Olodumare)
A-jẹ-́ju-oògùn (One who is more efficacious than medicine)
Obìrìtíi –A-p’ijọ́-ikú-dà (One Who Averts Death)
Olúwa mi àmọ̀ìmọ̀tán (My God, Whom We do not Know Completely)
A kò mọ̀ ọ́ tán (We do not Know You Completely)
à bá mọ̀ ọ́ tan ìbá ṣẹ (If We Knew You Completely, All Would be Well)
In fact, for somebody who is interested in the development and propagation of Ifa Religion, this is a mark of progress. I am happy that Ifa is spreading throughout the world. I conratulate the inventors of this application. You really did a good job. Any way, it is a divine job. It is a golden opportunity for all and sundry to learn Ifa. And for those who may use it in negative way, we will only pray for them that they will soon see the light and follow the path of truth in the right way. Now one can see that it would be bad to completely condemn a person over a mistake. Initially, when bishop E. M. Lijadu was compiling his Ifa verses, as could be realised when reading the books, he was doing so with the aim to destroy Ifa and promote christianity before he later saw the light. Today, we have all benefit from his work and through his child and or grandchild. I am happy to hear about Lijadu family here and will try to meet with the great man any time I go to Ondo. Let we priests learn here: let us teach people the verses of Ifa weather the intention of such people is good or bad for We priests can not do the documentation of the whole verses by ourselves. To Bishop Adekunle Lijadu, thank you for your good gesture to the inventors and for the love you have for the religion of your ancestors. May Olodumare grant you long life and sound health in the name of Orunmila. Ase. To Baba Onaje and Iya Sade, congratulations. May Orunmila guide and guard you throughout your life. Ase.

Everyone loves what you guys are up too. This sort of clever work and coverage!
Keep up the excellent works guys I’ve you guys to blogroll.
I stumble across this blog by accident but I’m delighted I did.
For someone born in Lagos and growing up closely sheltered from the perceived ‘heresy’ of Yoruba traditional religion, getting info online and learning the corpus of Ifa is the surest way to discovering this crucial element of my Yorubaness. Depiction of Ifa and Babalawos in Yoruba Nollywood films is to say the least discouraging; yet, a great number of people realises that Ifa is a crucial part of their social-cultural and spiritual consciousness. I guess your mobile apps will open a new vista in encouraging enthusiasm both among the Yorubas at home and in the diaspora. Thanks for the good job.

aboruboye baba ifa!!! pls kindly help me with the full explaination the meaning of this odu ifa OGBESA OGBE TORI KU TO SA thanks sir ifa agbewa o
àbọyè bọ ṣíṣe!!! Ogbesa can be translated in many ways it depends on how you call it or the accent of your dialect in yoruba. But with the line you just posted. It means ogbe that sees death and run. I hope this help. àlááfíà!!!
i want learn ifa verses, please help
This is a wonderful App for those interested in Ifa. But one problem is that the Odus do not follow the Sacred Order of Orunmila. Odus 5&6 and 7&8 are out of order. Also 11&12 and 13&14 and many others. And I haven’t checked them all yet but there are many errors that any priest or Babalawo should recognize. Violating the Sacred Order of the Odus is a very serious error. I noticed this within five minutes of purchasing the app. This of course makes me wonder what other exist. Hope the developers will correct and update this otherwise great app.
Dear Alufa,
Thank you for your comments. Actually, the order of Odu is specific to certain regions of Nigeria. For example, the order you have learned is called Oyo style. The Oyo order of Odu is Ogbe, Oyeku, Iwori, Odi, Irosun, Owonrin… But, the Ife version that we have used for the App (because our teacher, Baba Lijadu uses Ife style, is Ogbe, Oyeku, Iwori, Odi, Obara, Okanran….
There is an Odu Ifa which explains the regional shift in order of the Odu. In summary, it is explained that Ife had the first order of Odu. Soon after they taught it to Oyo by printing it. However, in some time they sent the wind to scatter the order they had given Oyo. Ever since, Oyo and Ife have different orders. There are other versions as well, in other regions of Nigeria.
Hope this clarifies the discrepancy between the version you learned and the version on the App.
All best wishes,
Ifa Divination App Team
This a great job done by the inventor. It has definately refreshed the mind of Omo babalawo like me. I forgot all the Odu’s of Ifa and alot of things I learn growing up. Since I got this app, I have been able to praise Ifa again. Thanks from Omo Baba Epega
Thank you Omo Baba Epega!
Aboru Aboye.
I wonder if there is any design to make this app for Android.
I thank the attention. Iyanifa Ifatola Aworeni.
Currently, it is only available on apple. You can download it on iPod iPhone or iPad.
Thanks for your interest!
